Volunteer(s) wanted to classify / index above
Volunteer(s) wanted to help with organising
1. classifying / indexing above (we'll give you free print Journals). 2. website editor!!
Please contact sam@folklife.uk
FTJ is not viable as a solo stand-alone publication!
FTJ, and this website, are paid for by subscribers to FW: Folklife West print magazine [folk club etc news].
Therefore our priority must be constantly updating our website for FW; so for this site, we need help from others.
Volunteers wanted - Summary
1) Firstly, as soon as possible, quite simple, pasting info under heading "Articles, songs & tunes" into an Excel spreadsheet.
(we also list other info eg "Publications' News" but I regard "Articles, songs & tunes" as the priority).
2) Later, requiring someone more knowledgeable than me, a searchable database for "Articles, songs & tunes", perhaps on a new website.
Volunteers wanted - Details
1) This webpage has lists of articles, each list being one author.
We welcome volunteers who can assist by simply pasting those individual lists into a combined list in Excel format - something like this???

- Issue: PDF A4: A4 PDF downloads for all issues. Some articles (originally-print only) added, they may be revised, hence v for pdf version number.
- PDF US: US-letter size pdfs for more recent issues. Emag: earlier issues also as "Issuu" e-magazines; may omit some articles originally-print only.
- I have Excel 2011 for Mac (works fine, not the latest). A volunteer could use a later version which I could use, or I could upgrade (tables from Weebly, our website provider, are not suitable - very basic).
2) Ideally, a completed Excel list as above would be converted to a searchable database with options of choosing by author, title, etc.
I have FileMaker 18, used for a simple member-records database (I started with an earlier version, kept upgrading to maintain that simple database).
In theory can be used for a complex database, accessible from web, but I don't know how.
