FTJ articles: index

FTJ articles: index  LIsts of authors and their articles.    Links to each issue's free PDFs downloads & list of contents

FTJ issues: index

ISSUES listed below. All have links to each issue: free PDFs downloads & list of contents. FWJ 01 to FT 56 are also on Issuu e-magazine site.
Started as Folklife West Journal (FW being our folk-news magazine), then changed to Folklife Traditions when omitted folk club material.
Later added Journal after Folklife Traditions, as simpler to explain on Zoom during Covid that Folklife Traditions Journal wasn't a folk-news magazine.
Was part of Folklife West, which changed name to Folklife Quarterly when it became quarterly, now 3 per year, so that name has gone back to Folklife West.

✅  FWJ 01-09 ~ Folklife West Journal, started with a grant for FWJ 01, published as a separate magazine, includes some folk club material, published irregularly,
  • After FWJ 07, also available as part of Folklife West, later renamed Folklife Quarterly when became quarterly
  • After FWJ 08; starting with FT 09, it was renamed as Folklife Traditions
There is no FT 10-35 !, as after FT 09, renumbered to be same number as Folklife Quarterly (FT becoming pages within FQ), so next was FT 36 (in FQ 36).

✅  FT 36-46 ~ Folklife Traditions, published as part of Folklife Quarterly
✅  FT 47-56 ~ Folklife Traditions, published as part of Folklife Quarterly
✅  FT 57-66 ~ Folklife Traditions, published as part of Folklife Quarterly
  • Continuing as part of Folklife Quarterly (FQ) whose name changed back to Folklife West, when no longer quarterly, as of FT 59
From FTJ 67name changed to Folklife Traditions Journal (the term 'Journal' flags up it's not a folk-news magazine), but continuing as part of Folklife West (which is a folk-news magazine).
✅
FTJ 67-73 ~ Folklife Traditions Journal, published as part of Folklife Quarterly
✅  FTJ 74-80Folklife Traditions Journal, now published separately (as combined magazine became too big to edit in time for publication dates)

Note:  FWJ 01 to FW 56 as e-magazines.  When we started, we produced e--magazines on "Issuu". It was free; became paid-for, so FT 56 was the last one as e-magazine. We can't access or modify the site unless we sign up (£23/month+VAT !). Instead, we've created pdfs for you to download, for all issues, from 01 to date.
Issuu sometimes still accessible, so for each of FWJ 01 - FW 56 we've included a link to that issue's e-magazine on Issuu.

FTJ single issues: index

✅  Single Issues — Each has index, pdf, plus pictures (jpegs) of pages as printed. From FT-76 (Nov. 2024)
Suggestions welcome, bearing in mind we are print editors, without web expertise, with limited time. Tech-savvy volunteers always welcome, especially anyone knowing about databases! For example, our Articles Index is a simple list, & would be better as a spreadsheet, & ideally a database.
Ideally, we'd like a volunteer web editor to run this site, whilst we concentrate on print editing and producing the magazine.
Web-editor(s) wanted ! Currently it's just Sam for all admin . . .
  • our print readers tell us how much they enjoy our publication
  • ideally we would concentrate on editing print magazines, with others more web-knowledgeable volunteering to run a website.
  • or volunteers to advise on set up, or running part of site
  • contact sam@folklife.uk
We would like to be set up formally as a charity or CIC; a volunteer to take this on would be most welcome.
